Preschool Education

Preschool Education · Ages 3–6
The first six years shape a lifetime.
At our Montessori Centres, our curriculum follows the Montessori philosophy — specifically designed for the critical first six years of your child's life, when they build the foundation of their future potential. "'The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind."
— Maria Montessori
Dr. Maria Montessori understood that children carry within them the pattern of the adults they will become. Our role is not to teach, but to prepare — to remove obstacles, offer beauty, and trust the child's astonishing capacity to learn.
Stirling Montessori and Kensington Montessori Program for Kindy and School Readiness
Starting Kindy and preparing for primary school is an exciting milestone for both children and their families. At our Montessori Early Learning Centre, our Kindy & School Readiness Program is designed to help children develop the confidence, independence, and essential skills they need for a successful transition to school.
We believe school readiness is about much more than learning letters and numbers. It is about nurturing curious, capable, resilient, and independent learners who are ready to embrace new experiences with confidence.
Our Kindy & School Readiness Program
Language & Literacy
Children develop strong early literacy skills through phonics, storytelling, vocabulary enrichment, conversations, and early writing activities. These experiences build a solid foundation for reading, writing, and confident communication.
Early Mathematics
Using authentic Montessori materials such as Number Rods, Golden Beads, Spindle Boxes, and practical counting activities, children gain a deep understanding of numbers, quantity, sequencing, patterns, and problem-solving.
Kindergarten & School Readiness Skills
Our Kindy program helps children develop the practical skills they need for a smooth transition into primary school, including:
Following routines and instructions
Working independently and completing tasks
Listening and concentrating during group experiences
Packing away belongings and caring for personal items
Developing responsibility and organisational skills
Building confidence to participate in classroom discussions
Social & Emotional Development
Children learn how to work cooperatively, communicate respectfully, share ideas, solve problems, and build positive friendships. Our mixed-age Montessori environment encourages empathy, leadership, collaboration, and respect for others.
Independence & Self-Regulation
Practical Life activities help children become independent and responsible. They learn to make thoughtful choices, manage emotions, develop self-discipline, and build the concentration needed for future learning.
Fine & Gross Motor Development
Activities such as pouring, threading, cutting, drawing, food preparation, climbing, balancing, and outdoor play strengthen the fine motor skills required for writing as well as overall physical coordination.
Creativity & Critical Thinking
Children explore art, music, movement, dramatic play, science, and open-ended learning experiences that encourage imagination, creativity, and confident problem-solving.
Outdoor Learning
Nature-based experiences promote curiosity, environmental awareness, resilience, and physical wellbeing through gardening, exploration, and outdoor discovery.
Individualised Learning
Every child learns at their own pace. Our educators carefully observe each child's interests, strengths, and developmental needs to provide personalised learning experiences that support school readiness.
Partnership with Families
We work closely with families to support every child's learning journey. Regular communication helps create a strong partnership that supports a positive transition from Kindy to primary school.
Our Kindy & School Readiness Program provides children with the knowledge, confidence, independence, and lifelong learning skills they need to thrive in Kindy transition successfully to primary school, and flourish throughout their educational journey.
