Stirling Montessori

Learning is an integral part of developing as a human, and our early learning center is based on the fact that a child can only develop effectively if their whole personality is engaged.

Kensington Montessori

We believe this is best possible in a prepared environment. We use the Montessori Method of scientific pedagogy to ensure your child gets exactly what they need.

About Us

Welcome to Kensington Montessori and Stirling Montessori, two family-owned and operated Montessori early learning centres dedicated to providing exceptional education and care for young children across Perth.
Located in Kensington and Osborne Park, our centres offer high-quality Montessori child care programs for children aged 15 months to 6 years, supporting each child's unique developmental journey in a nurturing and inspiring environment.
By embracing the Montessori approach to education and care, our environment ensures an inclusive, inviting and safe environment for children that fosters creativity, critical thinking and a lifelong love of learning. Our thoughtfully designed learning spaces encourage independence, concentration, collaboration, and a sense of belonging, helping children develop the skills and confidence they need for the future. We are proud to provide environments where young minds can flourish, and we look forward to welcoming your family into our Montessori community.

Practical Life

The Practical Life area of the classroom is an extension of the child’s own home environment. The practical life exercises encourage independence and promote the development of a sense of order. A child’s ability to concentrate develops with repetition of exercises, which is essential for future learning.

Sensorial

Children learn through their senses and the Montessori Sensorial curriculum promotes the development and refinement of the five senses. All materials in a Montessori environment provide learning through touch, taste, smell, sight, hearing or hands-on manipulation.

Language and Literacy

At Kensington Montessori, young children are introduced to language in many forms, including stories, letters, poems, and songs. Our rich environment extends the children’s scope for discussion and constantly introduces new ideas and vocabulary.

Our Philosophy

Our  Service statement of philosophy

At Kensington Montessori and Stirling Montessori, we believe every child is a unique individual with their own strengths, interests, experiences, and potential. Our role is to nurture each child’s development by providing a respectful, caring, and inspiring environment where they feel valued, confident, and a true sense of belonging.

Guided by Montessori principles and the Early Years Learning Framework, we support the development of the whole child — including their independence, creativity, confidence, social connections, emotional wellbeing, and curiosity for lifelong learning. Our prepared learning environments encourage children to explore, discover, problem-solve, and engage in meaningful hands-on experiences at their own pace.

We view children as capable and active learners. Our educators act as guides and observers, carefully supporting each child’s individual journey through respectful relationships, thoughtful interactions, and responsive curriculum planning. We follow an emergent approach that builds on children’s interests, strengths, family experiences, and cultural identities.

Our mixed-age learning communities encourage collaboration, kindness, leadership, and respect. Children have opportunities to learn with and from each other while developing independence, responsibility, empathy, and confidence.

We value strong partnerships with families and believe that each family brings unique traditions, cultures, and perspectives that enrich our community. We celebrate diversity and promote inclusion by creating an environment where all children and families feel respected, recognised, and welcomed. We acknowledge and embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and respect the Traditional Custodians of the land as the First Nations Peoples of Australia.

Our commitment is to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children are encouraged to explore the world around them, develop a love of learning, and grow into capable, compassionate, and confident individuals.

Welcome to our Montessori family — where every child is respected, celebrated, and supported to flourish.
