At Kensington Montessori and Stirling Montessori, we believe every child is a unique individual with their own strengths, interests, experiences, and potential. Our role is to nurture each child’s development by providing a respectful, caring, and inspiring environment where they feel valued, confident, and a true sense of belonging.
Guided by Montessori principles and the Early Years Learning Framework, we support the development of the whole child — including their independence, creativity, confidence, social connections, emotional wellbeing, and curiosity for lifelong learning. Our prepared learning environments encourage children to explore, discover, problem-solve, and engage in meaningful hands-on experiences at their own pace.
We view children as capable and active learners. Our educators act as guides and observers, carefully supporting each child’s individual journey through respectful relationships, thoughtful interactions, and responsive curriculum planning. We follow an emergent approach that builds on children’s interests, strengths, family experiences, and cultural identities.
Our mixed-age learning communities encourage collaboration, kindness, leadership, and respect. Children have opportunities to learn with and from each other while developing independence, responsibility, empathy, and confidence.
We value strong partnerships with families and believe that each family brings unique traditions, cultures, and perspectives that enrich our community. We celebrate diversity and promote inclusion by creating an environment where all children and families feel respected, recognised, and welcomed. We acknowledge and embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and respect the Traditional Custodians of the land as the First Nations Peoples of Australia.
